The McLennan County Historical Preservation Award

The McLennan County Historical Commission is proud to announce its McLennan County Historical Preservation Award program.   You are eligible to receive this medallion if you have a property that is at least 50 years old and has historical significance (please see application form for eligible categories). The property should be structurally sound and restoration work should be complete. The property may have unusual architectural details or claims of uniqueness such as oldest, earliest, largest, first, etc.

The Medallion is made of cast aluminum and is oval, measuring 6” by 4”. It is applied with concealed fasteners.

The Medallion costs $175.00 to be paid by the property owner.

You may apply for the medallion for your property or you may nominate someone to receive the medallion for their property.

Mail completed applications to: Sharon Griffith, 917 Old Oglesby Road, McGregor, Texas, 76657.   The Medallion Committee will evaluate your application, and you will be notified of their decision.

Properties receiving a medallion will be featured on the McLennan County Historical Commission Web Site and information will be sent to the Texas Collection at Baylor University.
